Let’s talk about this massacre in Minab. In the opening salvo of Trumps war of aggression. Hours before any Iranian response. An elementary school was hit directly, killing least 165 schoolgirls and teachers.
How does this happen? There’s really only 4 ways that I could see this happening. And they’re all very bad.
This was a strategic choice to demoralize the people of Iran, a Machiavellian war crime.
This was a hateful choice, made by the would-be school shooters that fit right into Pete Hegseth’s MAGA military and/or the genocidaires of the IDF
This was reckless - which means anyone could be killed at any moment. It’s stunning to think about the disregard for human life combined with the enormity of the firepower at their disposal.
This was a really bad fuck-up - which, if that’s the case should horrify us all. The people firing these missiles were not under fire, there was no fog of war, this salvo had been planned for months. If they fucked this up, then this is just the tip of the iceberg of the accidental mass murder to come.
So which one is it? It can be all of the above. But there’s no answer that makes this ok.
Now we have a choice. We, the people living in the US. Iran’s missiles can’t reach us. So we can look away, forget this ever happened, forget that the people we allow to rule over us did this, that that makes us responsible for this. I know for myself, if I chose that, I could never look another person in the eye again. If we choose that, then we can just keep our heads down until November, vote for a platform of “affordability” from a party that refuses to condemn this war, and hope that does… something.
Or, we can actually sit with this. Recognize this reality. And if you choose that we can work together to actually end this fascist regime through mass refusal, mass non-cooperation, and nonviolent mass action demanding the Trump fascist regime must go now.
